Financial Information & 2009-10 Annual Report

Avenues for Homeless Youth is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit corporation. Its tax-exempt status as a charitable organization means that contributions from donors are tax-deductible.

The Avenues Board of Directors ensures that the organization has an independent audit completed annually of its financial status. Click here for the audit for fiscal years ending June 30, 2010 and 2011.

Avenues has voluntarily participated in the Charity Review Council’s “Accountability Wizard." After demonstrating that it meets all 16 standards for public disclosure, governance, financial activity and fundraising, Avenues was awarded the Council’s “Meets Standards” seal.

Avenues for Homeless Youth relies on a combination of financial support of its programs from government grants and contracts (49%) and private foundations, corporate foundations and individuals (51%). See our Donor Privacy Policy below.

Donor Privacy Policy

Avenues for Homeless Youth collects and stores information from our donors. The information collected includes name, address, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and types and amount of donations. This information is used to provide an acknowledgement and thank you letters for donors to use for their tax records. The donor information may also be used to send out the annual report, solicitation for additional donations, provide notice of upcoming events and phone calls to thank for past support.

Donor's phone and mailing addresses will not be shared with any other organizations.  Any joint events, or fundraising ventures, with other organizations, that involves mailings to our donor list will be sent out by Avenues. All credit card and checking account information will be kept in a secure location and then destroyed after three years. This information will never be shared with other organizations or individuals.
