Financial Information

Avenues for Homeless Youth is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit corporation. Its tax-exempt status as a charitable organization means that Avenues is exempt from income and property taxes, and that contributions from donors are tax-deductible.

The Avenues Board of Directors ensures that the organization has an independent audit completed annually of its financial reports. Click here for the audit for fiscal years ending June 30, 2008 and 2009.

Contributors

Avenues for Homeless Youth relies on a combination of financial support of its programs from government grants and contracts (45%) and private foundations, corporate foundations and individuals (55%).

  • Hennepin County -- services contract, $104,860 per year -- July 2008-June 2012
  • Hennepin Country Group Residential Housing (amount varies with client demographics)
  • State of Minnesota - Emergency Shelter Grant Program, Runaway & Homeless Youth Act, and Transitional Housing Program, $79,250 for 2009-10 and $59,250 for 2010-11.
